Thermostat is not that old (about a year) so I replaced the PCV valve which was toast (and quite a pain in the arse). At idle or even low speeds (45-50) it’s fine. But as speed increases the temp goes up.Doing maths, the engine oil will expand by about 0.3-0.4qt between room temp and running temp. Note: the difference between MIN/MAX on the dipstick is 1qt. Checking your oil at "operating temp + 5 mins" tells you the complete volume of the oil that the engine has when in operation.Normally when the fan comes on after a few seconds/minutes of starting. There is either air in the coolant lines, or a stuck thermostat. There is a bleeder valve on the top of the thermostat. You may have to remove the air intake to get at it, then use a screw driver to turn the bleeder valve to release the air until the cooler starts spitting out.1. Park your Jeep with the nose at an incline. 2. Remove the radiator cap. 3. Once the operating temperature is reached, squeeze the main upper water hose to force out any air bubbles in the system. 4.
